February, 2006 - "Why Wearing a MedTee is Worth a Month in Therapy"

As most of the visitors to this website know, receiving a medical diagnosis for a long-term health issue is no picnic. The reactions that follow can include the classic stages of grieving; anger, denial, bargaining and hopefully (in time), optimistic acceptance.

Humor helps us get there, it helps us live with “what is”. Sharing our circumstances in a frank, “out there” manner (by wearing the tees in public) can help us break through our own denial, and maybe that of others. When we accept the reality of our medical condition, we comply better with treatment, we are more open to support, and we build a bridge for others to share their own experiences.

These are all ways to achieve a better health outcome and a better quality of life. See what one tee-shirt can do?
